Canadian drug and homeless policies are causing a violation of our right to public safety.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! IT'S TIME 4 CHANGE!
Communities in Canada are experiencing the fallout of the current opioid crisis. Flawed drug and homelessness policies are violating our right to public safety. We stand together to restore safe communities, and the protection of vulnerable children and seniors.
WE NEED IMMEDIATE ACTION TO:
STOP!
● Stop placing low barrier shelters in residential areas
● Stop normalizing open and illicit drug use
● Stop allowing injection sites close to schools and families
● Stop enabling drug use in our family-oriented communities
● Stop exposing residential communities to drug-induced crime
● Stop ignoring public safety
The rights of vulnerable children and seniors are being exchanged for the rights of those who do harm to communities.
CHANGE!
● Low-barrier shelters do NOT belong in residential areas
● Move all supervised injection sites away from families and children
● Provide recovery in place of drug use kits and addictive substances
● Enforce stricter drug legislation and bail reforms
● Increase police presence around low-barrier shelters
● Make our towns and cities safe again
Harm reduction without recovery does NOT break the cycle of addiction - it wreaks havoc on communities.
Current drug and homelessness policies are causing a violation of our right to public safety.
