Manutenção da vaga de viola de orquestra na Universidade federal de São João del Rei (Maintaining the position of orchestral viola at the Federal University of São João del Rei )

Olá! Meu nome é Felipe Eduardo Vicente. Sou aluno do 6º período do curso de viola de orquestra da Universidade Federal de São João del Rei(UFSJ). No último ano a professora de viola titular, devidamente preparada para o ensino e formação da licenciatura e performance dos alunos de viola, infelizmente pediu a exoneração de seu cargo por motivos pessoais. Fato que acarretou uma perda significativa para o departamento de música e para a região de atuação da universidade, situada no Campo das vertentes. Em seguida, o departamento deixou a classe de viola, composta atualmente por mim, sob orientação de um dos professores da classe de violino. O que até então parecia uma solução provisória, que se quer me comunicaram de forma clara ou me ouviram a respeito. No entanto, algo um tanto quanto mais grave vem ocorrendo. Existe um cortejo para o fechamento da cadeira de viola no departamento por parte de alguns professores, que apesar de serem maravilhosos em suas áreas de atuação não possuem a experiência na área das cordas friccionadas e como consequência na viola e seu ensino. Ou seja, deixaríamos de ter o curso de viola na Universidade Federal de São João del Rei. Universidade que leva o nome de uma cidade completamente imersa em uma tradição musical de 300 anos e que possui orquestras centenárias e repertórios como o do Padre José Maria Xavier e Lobo de Mesquita sendo executados em festividades locais e dentro da própria academia, por exemplo. Um dos argumentos utilizados pelo grupo citado é o velho e já conhecido por nós: "Não há violistas!". No entanto, tal fato não se confirma na prática. Em julho, aconteceu o I festival de música na laje, organizado pela Orquestra Mater-dei da cidade de Resende Costa, há 45 minutos de São João del Rei. Tive a honra de ser convidado para ministrar aulas para violistas. Bom! Tem violistas! Assim como teve alunos quando tinha o projeto de extensão orientado pela professora citada, o extinto Coletiviolas. O que me levou para outra pergunta. Já que temos o belo lema do "Ensino, pesquisa e extensão", onde está a universidade hoje nesta história? Onde está a extensão! Não está! Compreendo a situação da qual as universidades públicas saíram, mas se não tem fomento e crédito, não há alunos interessados, portanto não haverá alunos na universidade. Se pararmos para pensar, é bem mais cômodo tirar o curso de viola do que fazer o que é de obrigação da universidade. Prestar um auxílio de qualidade para a fomentação e expansão do ensino crítico. Fato que se agrava ainda mais por ser um curso de licenciatura. O fim da cadeira de viola acaba também por cortar as chances de quem ainda deseja cursar o instrumento, uma vez que apenas restaria a UFMG e UEMG situadas na capital, onde pessoas como eu não possuem fonte financeira para estar em locais onde o custo de vida é alto para viver com o mínimo de dignidade. Mas o que é isso tudo também se não uma grande piada de mal gosto com a viola?! É inegável que o fechamento da cadeira de viola na UFSJ é um retrocesso para com todo o espaço que a viola vem conquistando no Brasil, como por exemplo, ensino de qualidade com professores especializados, pesquisas voltadas para o instrumento em sua singularidade, execução de repertório original e a utilização de métodos voltados para as necessidades do violista. Quer dizer que por ser no interior, não devemos ter este direito? Não sou contra professores de violino ensinarem viola, desde que se preparem devidamente para isso e tratem o instrumento com o respeito merecido. No entanto, no caso de uma licenciatura onde são formados professores, creio ser inegociável a presença de alguém com o preparo científico/técnico/histórico/filosófico para o ensino não apenas da viola, mas de qualquer instrumento. Uma vez que a viola se difere do violino em tamanho e timbre, por exemplo, é necessário que esses dois pontos não sejam apenas mera redução, pois se tratam das necessidades da viola. Afinal, não é apenas descer uma 5º(quinta) abaixo, colocar mais força e pronto. Como, lamentavelmente, muitos pensam por dentro de vários centros de ensino espalhados por aí. Como violista, discente, professor, compositor e pensador, sinto um profundo pesar e uma profunda preocupação com os acontecimentos que rodeiam a viola na minha universidade. Infelizmente, a importância da viola tem que ser provada o tempo todo! Me dilacera, saber que posso ser o último aluno de viola. O que não pode acontecer mediante todas as conquistas para nosso instrumento! Não podemos retroceder! E por isso peço o seu apoio para a manutenção da cadeira de viola no departamento de música da Universidade Federal de São João del Rei. Me ajude com a assinatura e no que puder ir além! In other words, we would no longer have the viola course at the Federal University of São João del Rei. University that bears the name of a city completely immersed in a 300 year old musical tradition and that has centenary orchestras and repertoires such as those of José Maria Xavier and Lobo de Mesquita being performed at local festivities and within the academy itself, for example. In July, the 1st music festival on the slab took place, organized by the Mater-dei Orchestra of the city of Resende Costa, 45 minutes from São João del Rei. I understand the situation from which public universities have come out, if there is no promotion and credit, there are no interested students, therefore there will be no students in the university. But what is all this too if not a big bad joke with the viola?! It is undeniable that the closure of the viola chair at UFSJ is a setback for all the space that the viola has been conquering in Brazil, such as quality teaching with specialized teachers, research focused on the instrument in its uniqueness, execution of original repertoire and the use of methods aimed at the needs of the violist. Do you mean that because it is in the countryside, we should not have this right? I'm not against violin teachers teaching viola, as long as they are properly prepared for it and treat the instrument with the respect it deserves. However, in the case of a degree where teachers are trained, I believe it is non-negotiable to have someone with the scientific/technical/historical/philosophical preparation for teaching not only the viola, but any other instrument. Since the viola differs from the violin in size and timbre, for example, it is necessary that these two points are not just a mere reduction, because they are the needs of the viola. After all, it's not just going down a 5th (fifth) below, putting more strength and that's it. As, unfortunately, many think inside several teaching centers scattered around. As a violist, student, teacher, composer and thinker, I feel a deep regret and concern about the events surrounding the viola at my university. Unfortunately, the importance of the viola has to be proven all the time! It tears me apart to know that I may be the last viola student. That cannot happen with all the achievements for our instrument! We cannot go backwards! And so I ask for your support to maintain the viola chair in the music department of the Federal University of São João del Rei. Help me with the subscription and what I can go beyond!
